What is the ending to the theatrical version of Paranormal Activity (Spoiler Warning)?

I just watched Paranormal Activity online (DVD screener) and thought the ending was terrible but I heard the theatrical version has a different ending, so if you've seen it in theatres what happens at the end? In the version I saw, at the end ****SPOILER ALERT**** The chick apparently stabs the guy off screen then sits in the bedroom for a day in the same spot rocking back and forth, then her friend comes by to check on her, mysteriously dies (you hear her scream offscreen then its silent), then the cops come by the house and shoots the girl
