Milestones - baby 9 months. Important?

I think this day in age its so easy to try and keep up with the jones's and see if we can encourage our littluns to devop quicker than they're ready to. In my group of friends we all have roughly the same aged babies and it's almost like we're outdoing each other on the milestone front and trying to prove our babies have an extra talent! It's pathetic really but often leaves me thinking oh god is my baby slow. At the end of the day they all develop differently but that won't stop me contsantly checking if my baby is on track or if he's advance in his milestones becasue of the influence from others.
